My dear Raju,
Hope you are well. I could not send you any letter as I was busy for some days. In your last letter you wanted to know about the festivals of our West Bengal. In this letter I will tell you about the best festivals of West Bengal, that is Durga puja.
Durga puja is the most awaited fstival of Bengal. You can say it is the greatest and grandest festival of bengalis. This puja continues for four days. These days are consequently Saptami, Astami, Navami and Dashami. Dashami is the last day of puja where the immersion of Devi Idol takes place. People invole in puja of Devi, Pandal hopping and spending time with their relatives and friends. Different puja committees try their best to make their pandals and idols of Devi Durga attractive to the devotees.
This puja usually takes place in October. Last year the puja took place from 23 rd to 26 th October.
No more today, more when we meet. Convey my regards to your parents.
